Today President Bush will sign the Border Fence Bill in a ceremony that is likely to grap headlines and boost the lagging campaigns of many a GOP congressional race. Although he is rarely a voice of reason, the President nevertheless made a compelling case for his comprehensive immigration reform package and guest worker program, which he (correctly) believes would be more effective that throwing away $6 billion on a fence.
As I've noted before, it is unlikely that this project will be funded in any event.
